Six commitments we make to every family.
Health-tested breeding cats
Every queen and stud is DNA-screened for PKD, FIV/FeLV, and HCM, with annual cardiac and orthopedic review.
Veterinary supervised care
Our practice is co-managed with a board-certified feline veterinarian and a feline orthopedic specialist.
Early socialization program
Daily structured handling from day three through twelve weeks, modeled on the Early Neurological Stimulation protocol.
Transparent breeding practices
We publish every pairing, screening result, and pricing structure. No undisclosed terms, no premium tiers for health.
Lifetime breeder support
Consultation for the life of your cat. We rehome rather than surrender to shelter, always.
Ethical breeding standards
Fold to Straight pairings only. Two litters per queen per year, maximum. Retirement to family homes at age five.
Responsible breeding of Scottish Fold kittens requires a profound understanding of the osteochondrodysplasia gene. We are transparent: we never fold-to-fold breed. Every kitten is the result of a carefully selected Scottish Straight cross, ensuring cartilage health and structural integrity.
We publish our screening protocol, our pairings, and our veterinary partnerships. We believe transparency is not optional for a breed with the history that ours has.
Oversight
Annual cardiac and orthopedic screenings by board-certified veterinarians.
Legacy
Two-year written health guarantee and lifetime breeder support for every placement.

"Finding Aurelian felt like finding a family physician."
"After eighteen months on three different waiting lists, finding Aurelian felt like finding a family physician. Every question was answered in detail — including the difficult ones about breed genetics."
"Our veterinarian remarked that she had never received such complete medical records from a breeder. Two years on, our Fold is healthy, calm, and unmistakably well-raised."
"What sold us was the breeder's willingness to tell us the kitten we wanted was not the right kitten for our household. That honesty is rare."
Real updates from the cattery, week to week.
Litter weights, vet visits, screening dates and show results. We publish what other catteries keep in a binder.

How much do Scottish Fold kittens cost?+
Our Scottish Fold kitten price ranges from $2,800 to $3,600 depending on color, ear type, and sex. Scottish Straight siblings are offered at $2,400–$2,800. Pricing includes age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, two veterinary examinations, TICA registration paperwork, a starter pack of food and bedding, and our two-year congenital health guarantee.
Are Scottish Fold cats healthy?+
When bred ethically — Fold to Straight, never Fold to Fold — Scottish Folds live full and active lives of 12 to 15 years. The condition associated with the breed (osteochondrodysplasia) is dose-dependent: heterozygous kittens from a Fold × Straight pairing have dramatically reduced risk. We screen breeding cats annually with radiographs and partner with a feline orthopedic specialist.
Are you a TICA registered Scottish Fold breeder?+
Yes. Aurelian Folds is a registered TICA cattery in good standing, with Margaret Aurelian as a TICA member since 2014. Every kitten leaves with signed TICA registration paperwork and a four-generation pedigree. Our cattery registration and current standing certificate are available for review on request.
How does the reservation and waiting list work?+
A $500 deposit secures your place on our waiting list. When a litter is announced, families on the list are invited to select in deposit order. Deposits are refundable within 14 days and fully applicable to the final kitten price.
Do you ship kittens?+
We do not crate-ship kittens unaccompanied. We offer in-cattery pickup, in-cabin flight nanny service, and ground delivery throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic by a licensed pet courier.

Our litters are small and our waiting list is selective. Tell us about your household — we read every application personally.
